Accent Panels to Add Pops of Color

Sometimes painting a wall a bold color can feel a little intimidating or perhaps you like to change up the appearance of your space often? Artwork can be a little distracting and it can be difficult to find art that is meaningful with the right size and colors to compliment your space.

When it comes to interior decor, we love monochrome panels to add bold pops or color that add emotion and visual interest without being too brash.

Brice Marden “Grand Street” 1969

Inspired by works from artists like Brice Marden, Ellsworth Kelly, Ad Reinhardt, or Robert Ryman - these minimalist panels take on sculptural qualities. It’s their colors (or lack of colors) however that can help you curate your space from a bland living room into a peaceful oasis or a drab playroom into a colorful indoor playground.

Ellsworth Kelly “Spectrum V” 1969

Untitled Painting Co. offers custom Monochrome Panels to be created. The great thing about these paintings is they can be made in any size or dimensions you need - from tiny 5”x7” rectangles to massive 8’x8’ squares. Additionally, these can be painted with whatever color you want - just to go any paint supplier and pick out a color swatch. We prefer Sherwin-Williams as this will be the paint used - this prevents any color matching errors. We will also use whatever finish you want, from Flat to High Gloss.

To make these works, we start with custom stretcher bars - these are made using 1x2 pine wood. You can expect the thickness of each panel to be approximately 1.625” thick once the canvas has been stitched and paint applied. These stretcher bars are cut to size using a miter saw then attached with corner braces and wood glue. Once the assembled stretchers have been assembled we stretch and staple a heavy duty cotton canvas over the stretcher bars. Then three layers of gesso is applied. After that comes the color - we apply a minimum of two coats of paint to each monochrome panel - sometimes three is necessary.  Once the panels are dry they are ready to be packed and shipped or delivered and installed locally.
