Paint Selections Made Easy

What paint do I recommend? Well that really depends on the project, location, and budget. Many things can make or break an interior paint job. You may do everything correct from the prep work to the color selection and application - but choose the wrong product and all your hard work may result in a less than ideal finished product. This can create a huge headache. Below I break down the interior paint products I like the best for high quality results. Keep in mind, these may not be the best products for your job - we will consult with you at the time of your FREE ESTIMATE.

Walls

Sherwin-Williams 'Duration' is my go-to interior wall paint. Homeowners love this paint because it can handle scrubbing/cleaning very well. This paint is also highly recommended in areas that see excess moisture/humidity like a basement, bathroom or kitchen. The most popular finishes are Matte and Satin. Semi-gloss may be preferred in areas that see frequent cleaning like the bathrooms and kitchens.

A more affordable but still fantastic quality paint is Sherwin-Williams 'SuperPaint'. This paint provides beautiful coverage with great results.

Ceiling

Ceilings are best painted “Extra White” to create a clean, polished look. Any other color can play off your wall paint and appear slightly blue, pink, or yellow. Flat paint is also the best for ceilings because it hides imperfections and doesn’t draw your attention to the ceiling. My go-to product for painting ceilings is Sherwin-Williams 'CHB'. Although this is a “builder’s grade’ product, don’t let that fool you, this creates excellent coverage with great hide and high quality results on a ceiling.

Trim

The trend to update a home’s look with clean white trim is still going strong. Painting the existing wood trim is more affordable than a complete replacement and beautiful results can be had with the proper preparation and paint selection. After cleaning, sanding, repairing, sanding and again cleaning the trim - a high quality bonding primer is applied and allowed 24 hours to dry. Then two coats of a high quality trim paint is used. My favorite product for this job is Sherwin-Williams 'Pro Classic' for a high quality and durable finish that can withstand frequent cleaning and abuse.
